Choosing your bridesmaid dresses……
Where do you start?
Often you will have different body shapes to dress, different skin tones to complement, different personalities to please and girls scattered all over the world – so rule number one: It’s your wedding take control!
Remember when you picked your dress, you had to please you, well this is a bit more tricky! You have to look at the photos for years but the girls have to be smiling in the photos, they also organise your hen night so be kind!!
Think about the fabric your dress is made from and get something to complement yours, maybe pick 3 or 4 styles you like first then get the girls to try them on, you will soon see which you prefer and more often than not it will be the same style that the girls look happy in! Next on to colour, you might love bright purple but it might not suit your girls, this doesn’t mean you can’t have purple, just change the tone or the brightness – you can still have a mix of purples in your flowers! Remember the colour needs to suit you and your partner too, you are going to be surrounded by it!
Long or short? That’s the next thing, well if you are only having one bridesmaid you want her to look like a bridesmaid and not a guest! Short dresses on a number of girls all wearing the same design and colour clearly makes them the bridesmaids but just one girl wearing it may make her blend into the background. Also the bonus with choosing long means you don’t have to worry so much about choosing the shoes, your girls can all have different if they want to.
Lastly be careful when buying from the High Street, you don’t want a guest turning up wearing the same 😉 can you imagine?!
Give yourself the time to choose and make a decision everyone is happy with, but most importantly that you are happy with and make the most of a day out with the girls!
